“A Bit of a Journey” with Mark Gilligan (at Blackburn & District Camera Club)

We meet up with Blackburn & District Camera Club for a joint evening with award winning Lakeland photographer and writer Mark Gilligan.

Here's Mark's biography:

"Mark Gilligan FBIPP is an award winning photographer and writer based in the North of England.  Whilst he specialises in landscapes he produces work across Europe for Monarch Airlines and their inflight magazine Passport.  An ambassador for Lee Filters and Berghaus, Mark has his own photography features series in several magazines and he also writes for a host of outdoors publications.

He can also be seen regularly on the BBC in a film called, ‘Life of a Mountain:Scafell Pike’ as well as other ‘cameo’ appearances.  A producer and director of broadcast television too, Mark now concentrates on his photographic work, primarily working in the Lakes where he also runs his workshops.

He recently won the prestigious Sunday Times Landscape Photographer of the Year #OMGB Award with an image that the Guardian listed as one of the worlds greatest 20 photographs."
